Ingredients:
5 cups chicken broth, plus more if you like it with more broth
1 pound dried split peas, rinsed and picked over
1 cup chopped sweet onion
3/4 cup chopped celery
3/4 cup chopped carrot
1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
1 small russet potato, pealed and chopped 1/2 inch cubes
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 14 ounce fully cooked package of Kielbasa, cut into 1/4 inch medallion pieces
Directions:
1. In a 5 quart slow cooker add all ingredients and stir. Cook on high for 6 hours. Once done, stir and add more chicken broth for thickness of the soup to your liking.
